Leadership Team

The RJS leadership team brings more than 100 combined years of experience in commercial pest management to provide reliable pest control services.

Robert J. Seeger /

Regional VP

As Regional Vice President, Rob is in charge of business strategy, operations oversight and overall company performance for the New York region. Rob has been instrumental in RJS’ business strategy and explosive company growth since 2010. Today Rob is responsible for a New York region that covers Long Island, New York City, and Westchester County.

Prior to joining RJS, Rob served as Executive Vice President, Business Development at Bridgeline Software, where he was a partner that helped take the company to a public offering in 2007. Rob started his career by championing Western Pest Services expansion into NYC in 1997 where he served as District Sales Manager for almost three years and helped build Western’s NYC operation from the ground up.

Rob earned his B.A. in Business at Rutgers University, where he was captain of the football team. Rob and his wife Kara reside in Westchester, NY and have three beautiful children.

Mike Whalen /

Vice President, Business Development

With 20 years of sales experience in the pest management industry, Mike brings significant value to his role at RJS. As Vice President, Business Development, Mike is primarily responsible for driving new revenue growth at RJS and managing the RJS sales team. In addition, Mike helps to foster many customer relationships and is critical in ensuring high customer retention.

Prior to joining RJS, Mike was Regional Sales Manager at Western Pest Services from 1995-2013 where he worked with Joe, Al, Rob & Roger. Mike graduated from Rowan University in 1995 with a major in Business. Mike and his wife are the proud parents of three beautiful girls.

Mike Malan /

Director of Business Development Strategy & Information Technology

Disciplined, determined and detail-oriented, Mike joined the RJS team as an intern in 2010 while attending Marist College. Mike has been an instrumental team member in building the RJS business. Today, Mike plays a strategic role optimizing business process and while leveraging advanced technology to continuously streamline and improve business process. In 2014, Mike spearheaded the migration to electronic reporting and our proprietary mobile field service platform – RJS Mobile.

Prior to joining RJS, Mike performed a business development internship at Bridgeline Software, a digital engagement solutions provider headquartered in Burlington, MA. He graduated magna cum laude from Marist College with a B.S. in International Business and Psychology.

Joe Barlok /

Branch Manager

As Branch Manager of the New York City business, Joe is responsible for the entire NYC service operation. Joe brings extensive experience in pest management, employee development and business development, as well as a contagious passion for the industry. He began his career as a technician for Lloyd Pest Control before being promoted to service supervisor, where he was awarded supervisor of the year twice. He also worked for Western Pest Services, where he was responsible for running the service department of a multimillion-dollar branch serving all five of New York City’s boroughs and Long Island. Due to his exceptional work and service to our customers, he was promoted to Branch Manager in 2019.

Sharon Scialabba /

Office Manager

Sharon joined RJS as a customer service representative in July 2015 and was quickly promoted to office manager by year end. Sharon runs all office administrative, customer service and revenue recognition tasks for the business. A tireless worker, Sharon is a key component to RJS service continuity and organization.

Mrs. Scialabba broke into the pest control industry in 2002 and worked as a customer service representative for Bug Doctor Pest and Bowco Pest, and as a branch manager for Viking Termite & Pest Control in the Bordentown, East Brunswick and Mountainside branches.

Al Velez /

Service Supervisor

A veteran of the pest control industry, Al has been in the pest management business since 1994. As Service Supervisor with over twenty years of industry experience, Al manages our technicians to ensure that every customer is receiving effective, high-quality and personalized service. In addition to being NY-certified with 7A and 7F licenses, he has extensive experience in servicing large and complex commercial facilities such as hospitals, schools, hotels, restaurants, nursing homes and food processing plants.

Before relocating from Florida to join RJS and some of his former colleagues, Al served as a Service Supervisor and Certified Field Trainer at Orkin Pest Control, the largest pest control provider in the world.

Al and his wife Jessie reside in Central New Jersey and are the proud parents of three healthy and athletic boys.

Derrick Small /

Service Supervisor

Derrick has been a crucial player in RJS’ growth, service success and customer retention. He is responsible for the overnight team of service specialists, as well as the Queens and Bronx territories.

Prior to joining RJS, Mr. Small was a service supervisor for Western Pest Services, where he was hired and trained by Roger Seeger and Joe Tamayo. Derrick has extensive experience working in New York City and was eventually promoted from master service technician to Service Supervisor in early 2016.

Manny Moronta /

Service Supervisor

Manny joined the RJS team as a master technician in 2012. With an extensive background in troubleshooting large, complex accounts, he took on the challenge of onboarding new accounts, seeing them through the intensive phase and, eventually. building them into a route. In 2016, Manny was promoted to Service Supervisor, where he manages his own group of service specialists.

Prior to joining RJS, Manny worked for Viking Termite & Pest, and Corbett Exterminating.

Anthony Banks /

Service Supervisor

Anthony began his career in pest control with RJS in 2012. He was hired with no previous pest control experience and a background in finance. Needless to say the switch in career paths was a big learning curve but his initiative to learn, eagerness to grow and goal oriented mentality maintained his focus. Within the past year Anthony was promoted to service supervisor. He is excited to begin his new opportunity to help train and mentor his crew of service specialists. Guidance, support and most of all teamwork is what makes our company great and what will continue to help us all grow together.

Quality Control Manager

Joe joined the RJS team in 2010.  As Quality Control Manager, Joe is responsible for the service and professionalism RJS delivers on each and every visit. Joe’s thirty years of pest control experience have paid significant dividends for RJS Pest, as he has helped RJS grow and retain customers year after year. Joe’s discipline, loyalty, and commitment to success are traits not often found in employees.

Joe and his wife happily reside in central New Jersey with their son.
